I know sometimes if I haven’t done every challenge OR if I feel behind, I’ll just stop doing it. What’s the point, right? Well: Feel good. Look great. Be awesome. Enough said? :) Get it!

Today is all about the last piece in our biggest + quickest results trifecta: detox. hormones. digestion.

And, we’re mini-Resetting this in a really easy, fun, & yum way…



From cocktails to ketchup to canned soup….sugar is creepin’ + begging to be your BFF.

And let’s be honest, we all know that sugar isn’t the best thing for us, but it’s like the bad boy you just can’t quit. He doesn’t make you feel good, look good, or feel taken care of. 

Here’s a few of the sneaky things sugar does:

​​​​​​+ increases belly bloat + gas (so sexy)
+ s​​​​​​tops skin from glowing like a Swedish model
+ messes up bowel movements (too fast/slow)
+ increases anxious moods but decreases happy (95% of the body’s serotonin is in the gut)
+ ​​​​​​​reduces memory & the ability to adjust to changing situations (cue emotional sensitivity)
​​​​​​​+ destroys gut flora & weakens immune system (90% of immune system is in the gut – whoa)

​​​​​​​Processed sugar is kinda like feel good, look great suicide.

​​​​​​​And no. Just taking probiotics or green juice doesn’t fix this. {bubble burst}

BUT, if you remember our Reset Secret Sauce, kdo resetting is alllll about adding IN more of the good + right stuff vs. deprivation.

Sweet Simulators are foods that you can add/swap in that make you feel like you are indulging, enjoying sweets, and fulfilling your cravings – WITHOUT really adding in sugar, sugar chemicals, or crap food. Through tripping sweet taste bud receptors, using key aromas, and guilt by association, you get the same experience BUT you still get to keep your energy up, blood sugar & hormones stable, and your weight back-to your sweet spot. ;)   

It’s time for the bad boy break up. You got this!

Today’s Challenge // Find your sweet simulators.

Pepper these sweet simulators into your snacks/meals today and see what happens! 

Color – Adding the color red automatically triggers us to believe the food is sweeter even if the sugar content isn’t changed. Think cherry or pomegranate juice (2-3 T. added to a glass of water), passion fruit tea, beet juice to a cake, cookie or bar mix (like Red Velvet cake), or simply a cherry cobbler or berry crisp.

​​​​​​​Coconut – oil, flakes, milk. Add all 3 variations of coconut to oatmeal, cook/bake with oil, add milk to smoothies or soups, and even add coconut oil to tea.

Almond – nuts, oil, milk, or extract. Add chopped almonds to chicken, oatmeal, green beans, broccoli, yogurt, and more. The list really is endless. Almond oil can be delicious for salads, drizzled in soups, and even drizzle into porridge or yogurt. Add the extract to baked goods (and reduce sugar), smoothies, oatmeal, sauces, dips, etc.

Sweet Nuts – Any nut that you associate with sweet dishes – pecans, walnuts, hazelnuts, macadamia nuts, etc. Add to any and all dishes. Whole, chopped, ground into a meal (powder).

Vanilla Powder – This is simply the vanilla bean ground up into a powder instead of extracted via alcohol and oil into a liquid. The flavor is addictive and delicious. Check spice shops and natural grocery stores for vanilla powder or purchase whole vanilla beans and grind them up in a coffee grinder.

Citrus, Fruit, & Nut Extracts/Oils – orange, lemon, lime, cherry. These are fantastic additions to smoothies, bars, cakes, salad dressings, seasonings, oatmeal, granola, trail mix, and more.

Warming Spices – Cinnamon, Nutmeg, Ginger, Cardamom, Cloves. Add these to any smoothie, baking item, baked sweet potatoes, roasted root veggies, chicken, salmon, soups, nuts/seeds, even eggs.
